Our Welcome Pack is an online briefing document that we've created to help smooth the process of building your website. This online brief helps us gather all the information that is needed to create the perfect site by fully understanding your business.
We've tried to make the Welcome Pack as easy as possible for you to complete. However, we appreciate some customers have limited time or you might just value having a helping hand along the way - if this sounds like you, then you might want to take advantage of the Assisted Welcome Pack Service.
What Is The Assisted Welcome Pack?
The Assisted Welcome Pack is exactly the same in terms of the information gathered as the regular Welcome Pack but rather then you completing the pack yourself, we'll go through all the sections with you over the phone with the added bonus of expert advice from our team.
What Should I Expect?
If you decide to take advantage of the Assisted Welcome Pack we'll send you a link where you can book a call at a time which is convenient to you. Make sure you set some time aside, as these calls usually last around an hour depending on the size of your site. During this call, we'll go through each section of the Welcome Pack with you and enter the information you provide.
Step 1 - Getting To Know You:
The first thing we will do is talk to you about your business and try to get to know you more. This really helps us understand your business and what you are trying to achieve with your website. Getting a full understanding of your business means we can suggest a few ideas along the way that we think could help make your website more effective for you.
Step 2 - Your Logo Design:
Once we have got to know you, we'll then move on to the logo design section of the Welcome Pack. If you have professional logo design as part of your package, we'll run through the various questions our designers need answered in order to get your logo just right. If you have your own logo we'll need to add that to your pack, you can email that to us or upload it directly yourself. If you're trying to keep costs down and don't have your own professionally designed logo already, you can opt for a free text logo - We just need to know the name of your business and we'll create a basic logo which will fit in with your new website. (You can always add professional logo design at a later stage)
Step 3 - Your Website Design:
Now we understand your business and brand identity, we need to get an idea of how want visualise your brand and what your tastes are. This includes things such as likes, dislikes and your inspirations. We really want to understand the look you're trying to achieve and so we'll ask you things like if there are sites you like and why. We would never copy another site but seeing a few examples helps us understand your tastes.
Step 4 - Your Site Requirements:
Once we get your vision, we'll then move on to the structure of you site and what you require. This includes the pages as well as understanding what you want your customers to see. We can sometimes recommend things to go on your pages or even suggest specific pages you might want. Looking at your competitors' sites to see what sort of pages and information they include can help identify how to make you stand out and get your unique selling point across. If you've added Photo Pack to your package (access to stock images) we can help recommend images and add the image references to your Welcome Pack.
Step 5 - Any Files & Images:
Websites are a visual medium so it's important to have great images that make an impact. If you have images you would like used on the website you can email them across or add them directly yourself.
Step 6 - Search Engine Optimisation:
Our Essential packages include initial Search Optimisation as standard. However, our Popular, Popular Plus and Premium packages include ongoing Search Optimisation which means we will work on an ongoing basis to improve your website ranking. We'll discuss with you what keywords might work best for your business and help you decide the terms we should be targeting for you.
Step 7 - Your Web Address:
Your packages include a web address, also known as a domain name. Domain names have a huge influence on your business name and branding. Your customer support advisor can help you choose the right domain for you. If you already have one, that's no problem, we can make note of this and what we'll need to do when your site goes live. If you're using your webs address on your current site, we can do the switch at the last moment before the new site goes live.
Step 8 - Your Email Accounts:
Your package includes email accounts. If you would like us to set up accounts for you, we'll make a note of what you require and get these set up for you.
Step 9 - Finishing Touches
Once the call has completed we'll make any final changes they need to your Welcome Pack. If there's anything extra we require such as images, your logo or content we'll drop you an email as a reminder. Once we have these, crossed the T's and dotted the i's, we'll then submit the Welcome Pack to our design team who will do a final check on everything.
Step 10 - Welcome Pack Complete!
Once the Welcome Pack is completed, it will go to our design team for that final check. Once this is done they'll send you an email to let you know that your site is underway! The first draft is usually completed and sent to you within 5-10 working days. We'll send you an ETA a few days before we sent your draft over.
Can I Do Anything To Prepare?
We will assist you as much as possible, but there are some things we couldn't do without you. To get the most out of your Assisted Welcome Pack there are a couple of things you can do to prepare for the call. The more information you can provide on the call the quicker we can get everything completed for you.
Think About Your Tastes
If you have an idea of what you like, our advisors can help bounce ideas and think of things you might not have considered before. It's good to know the colours you like and some sites you like the look of and give you some inspiration. It's a good idea to browse through our portfolio and see if there is anything that jumps out at you. It might give you some ideas you hadn't considered.
Pages
Have a think about what pages you might need and the information you would like your potential customers to know. This could be things like accreditation's, contact information, details on your products and services etc. These are all important things for your designers to know.
Images
If you already have images of your business and staff, this is a little tricky for us to do this for you. If you have the time, upload your images to your Welcome Pack before the Assisted Welcome Pack. Your customer support advisor will be able to let you know if the images are ok and it will also help speed up the process of getting your Welcome Pack to our design team.
If you have upgraded to our photo pack or it's included in your package, it be great to take a look at the type of images you like for the site on www.istockphoto.com. This will not only help you get the Welcome Pack to your designer quicker but your customer support advisor can also pick some for you if you stuck now they have an idea of the image style you like.
