In July 2023 we launched the Webfactory Hub and with it a new and improved website editor. As part of the launch we added a lots of new features and in this article we'll share some of our favourites that you may not know about and we think you'll love.
1. Hub search
You can search the entire hub to find what you're looking for. If you press the forward slash key '/' on your keyboard while in the Hub, it will bring up a search facility where you can search for things like pages and products. This is great to use if you want to move quickly around the Hub or if you can't find what you're looking for.
2. Shortcut keys
You can use shortcut keys to get around more quickly. If you press '?' within the hub, it will bring up information on all the shortcuts keys you can use.
3. Copying pages
You can copy the layout of existing pages on your website. This is handy if you want to add a new page to your website that has a similar layout / structure to an existing page. To copy a page, find the page you want to copy, go to the 3 dots menu, and then select copy page. You can copy the page with or without content.
4. Customer account discounts
If you have customer accounts enabled, you can provide a custom discount for those customers. You can set these in the customer account section under the webshop. When in customer accounts select the account that you would like to apply the discount to. Then go to the settings tab where you can add an account standing discount. This will then apply when the customer goes to check out. You can also set a discount for all registered customers in the customer accounts settings.
5. Schedule banners
You can schedule a banner slide in the banner settings. This is great for limited-time promotions and seasonal slides. You can schedule a slide by going to the 3 dots above the image you want to schedule. You can then choose a date and time for it to start showing or to stop showing.
6. Order tracking codes
You can add tracking codes to your web address links to monitor where your sale originated from. To use tracking codes you simple need to add short code to the end of your web addresses. For example, if you share products on social media and you want to know how well social media is helping you convert sales, you could add '/?tc=socialpost' to the end of the website links that you share. If someone clicks on your link and then goes on to place an order, you will see the sales total in the tracking codes section.
7. Cross promotions on products
You can cross-promote products on your product pages. To add cross promotions, go to the product you want to add the cross promotion to, click on the cross promotion tab and select the products you want to show. Now when a customer views the product, the related products you have selected will now show underneath.
8. Block words and phrases on forms
You can block messages which contain certain words and phrases from being submitted. This is particularly helpful if you're having trouble with spam messages coming through.
You always need to be careful not to be too aggressive with blocking words as this could block genuine messages so try to be specific such as blocking problematic email addresses and phrases. You can do this by going to your site settings, then general settings and then scrolling to the form settings section where you'll find an area to add blocked words and phrases.
