Welcome to your November update. Read about the latest updates and improvements we've made to our products and services this month.
New this month
Webfactory Saver - We've now launched Webfactory Saver, a way to gain additional benefits for your website. These include free small changes, discounts on larger changes, free stock images, and more. Find out more about Webfactory Saver.
Department images - We've changed the way that department images work. Department images are the images you see when you have a page with links to multiple departments. Previously, the image was set in the department settings to come from either a specific product within the department or from a random product within the department. We have removed the ability to choose a product as the source of the image; this causes issues when a product is later removed. We've now added the ability to upload your own custom image for the department. You can still opt to have it randomly select a product from products within the department, and it will choose a different product every time the page is loaded.
Term manager - We've added a new section to website settings called 'Term manager'. Term manager provides finer grain control over inbuilt text for your website. For example, buttons might say 'find out more' but you want them to say 'more information', with Term manager, you can edit what the button says.
Improved invoices - We've made some improvements to the invoices we send to you. Most of the invoices we send out have only two or three items on them; however, some clients have significantly more. Our invoices were limited always to a single page, which means sometimes the invoices could appear very cramped, or some text might overlap with other text. We've now made it so that invoices can extend over multiple pages. For those this issue has affected, it will make a huge difference. We're also looking at how we can combine more invoices into a single invoice so we aren't sending lots of invoices when they could be combined into one.
Christmas preparations
Christmas is fast approaching, and so it's now time to start preparing for the season. You can add a bit of Christmas spirit to your websites with the upgrades that we have on offer.
Customised website banner slide - Schedule a banner slide to show over the Christmas period. Include a festive message, an offer, opening times, or just transform a current slide with Christmas design elements.
Opening times - Add Christmas opening hours/days to your contact page.
Falling snow effect - Adds a falling snow effect to your website's pages. You can set a start and end date for the snow to start falling.
Themed logo - Personalise your logo with Christmas-themed elements such as snow, Christmas lights, etc.
You can add these elements in our Christmas store
Coming soon
Content plans - We'll shortly be launching content plans where, in return for a commitment period, you will receive a discount on our designer fees. It's great if you have frequent changes and either don't have the time to make the changes yourself or if you would like one of our designers to make an update for you.
Knowledge base - We've been working on a knowledge base product. The knowledge base product is a website where you can store items such as support articles, guides, policy documents, and other types of resources. You can then make these available to your customers to search for or even lock files down so only your staff can access them.
PDF Invoices - We're working on replacing the invoices your customers receive when they make purchases on your website with a PDF version. Currently, they are taken to a page on your website.
New product page layouts - We're going to be rolling out our new product page layouts in the coming months. Currently, product pages have a standardised layout; the new layouts will allow for more emphasis on different elements, such as product images.
That's it for this month! Any feedback, comments, and suggestions are always welcome.
