October 2024 update

Welcome to your October update. Read about the latest updates and improvements we've made to our products and services this month.

New this month

Improvements to our checkout process - We've made improvements to the checkout page on our website. When signing up for a new website package, it's now easier to switch between different payment plans.

'Remove all images' option added - We've added a 'remove all images' option on products, itemlister items, and properties. To remove all images, navigate to the images tab, and there will be a link to 'remove all' at the bottom of the page. Please note this will only show if you have more than two images.

'Drag to order' page section elements - You can now rearrange the page elements within a given page section. For example, if you have a page section with an image on the left and text on the right, you can now click and drag the grip icon to rearrange the page elements. This function is only available if you have the Enhanced Editor as part of your package.

'Click to edit' page section element type - You can now change a page element type after a page section has been created. For example, if you have a text element, you can click on the swap icon, which will then open a dialog box with all the available element types you can replace it with. Please note that this will remove the content in the page element you are swapping. This function is only available if you have the Enhanced Editor as part of your package.

Loyalty discount page - We've added a page within the account section of the Hub to display your current loyalty discount. Admin users and those who have been granted account management permissions can view this page by clicking on their profile image, selecting 'account and billing' and clicking on the loyalty discount link.

First order discounts on Webshop customer accounts - We've added an option within Webshop customer account settings whereby you can generate a voucher for a new customer. This could be used, for example, to provide a discount on a customer's first order.

'Subscribe to mailing list' on new customer account create - You can now feed your customer accounts email addresses into your Mailchimp audiences. To enable this feature, go to the Mailchimp section in your site settings and select an audience in the 'feed customer accounts' select box.

Added a link to the 'relates to' tag in the feedback centre - Within the Feedback Centre, your changes are listed with a tag indicating what the change relates to. We've now made this a link, so when clicked, it will take you to the page it relates to.

We've changed our quote request page so you can request how and when to be contacted - We've added new options on our quote request page where you can select the method by which we provide a quote, e.g. email or call. If you choose the call option, you can now specify a time to be contacted.

Enabling the adding and removing email accounts - You can now add and remove Webfactory Mail accounts within the Hub. To do this, log into the Hub, access the 'domain and email' product for the domain you want to manage, and you will be given the option to add new or remove old accounts.

Christmas preparations

Christmas is fast approaching and so now is the time to start preparations for the Christmas season.

Customised website banner slide - Schedule a banner slide to show over the Christmas period. Include a festive message, an offer, opening times or just transform a current slide with Christmas design elements.

Opening times - Add Christmas opening hours/days to your contact page

Falling snow effect - Adds a falling snow effect to your website's pages. You can set a start and end date for the snow to start falling.

Themed logo - Personalise your logo with Christmas-themed elements such as snow, Christmas lights etc

You can add these elements in our Christmas store

Coming soon

Webfactory Saver - We'll shortly be launching our Webfactory Saver package. This package gives you discounts on our standard fees as well as additional perks. You can read more on our dedicated article here.

Content plans - We'll shortly be launching content plans where, in return for a commitment period, you will receive a discount on our designer fees. It's great if you have frequent changes and either don't have the time to make the changes yourself or if you would like one of our designers to make an update for you.

Knowledge base - We've been working on a knowledge base product. The knowledge base product is a website where you can store items such as support articles, guides, policy documents, and other types of resources. You can then make these available to your customers to search for or even lock files down so only your staff can access them.

PDF Invoices - We're working on replacing the invoices your customers receive when they make purchases on your website with a PDF version. Currently, they are taken to a page on your website.

New product page layouts - We're going to be rolling out our new product page layouts in the coming months. Currently, product pages have a standardised layout; the new layouts will allow for more emphasis on different elements such as product images.

That's it for this month! Any feedback, comments and suggestions are always welcome.
