Scheduled maintenance July 2024 - Webfactory

We're planning to make some updates to our email services which will result in a period of downtime if you have a Webfactory Mail account.

Date of maintenance:

• Wednesday 31st July 2024 00:01 to 01:30 BST
  

Impacted services:

• All email accounts using Webfactory Mail
  
• Webmail
  
• Email clients such as Outlook, Mac Mail etc
  

Expected impact:

• Email services will be offline.
  
• You will not be able to access your emails via Webmail although you may be able to access historic emails if you use an email client such as Outlook which store a local copy on your device.
  
• You will not be able to send or receive emails.
  
• Inbound emails will be delayed but should arrive soon after services are restored.
  
• 'Failure to connect' error messages will be seen during this period.
  

Purpose of maintenance:

• The storage available on our email servers is nearing capacity. We will be migrating emails from one storage engine to another which will allow us to expand capacity indefinitely.
  

Mitigation actions you can take:

• Avoid accessing your email during this period.
  
• Avoid sending emails during this period as they will fail to send
  
• Avoid any planned marketing activities which may require urgent replies during the maintenance window.
